This Adweek Ad of the Day is a clever one, in that it showcases all of human kind’s great achievements and how it’s all connected, thanks to Cisco. Delivered directly to the camera via a very positive and sincere Ewan McGregor. A very talented actor (and certainly the best part of the Star Wars prequels, in my opinion). He makes you believe what he’s saying. “Congratulations, fellow human beings” and “I’m proud of us” sprout to mind as particularly memorable lines that hook the viewer to keep them engaged so they will want to hear more about our collective greatness. (Who doesn’t like to be complimented, right?)

He doesn’t just stand there and take you through a powerpoint slideshow, but he is part of the world he’s telling us about. It’s beautifully shot and choreographed as he appears in various locations. Wading through a sea of people walking down a busy city sidewalk, standing with people waiting for the next bullet train, traipsing through a giant particle accelerator, trying to get a robot dog to fetch a wrench, riding a motorcycle into the African sunset…you know what I’m talking about. Genius advertising for Cisco.
